Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa is Pleasant Gateway to Central Vietnam’s World Heritage Sites– Danang, Vietnam

The city of Danang has emerged as a major center for commercial activity and tourism in Central Vietnam. In addition to its large seaport and well-known beaches like Non Nuoc and China Beach, the city is located close to the World Heritage sites at Hoi An, Hue, and My Son, and the natural wonder of the Marble Mountains. There are several dozen large hotels and condominium complexes along the beachfront including the highly regarded Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa which we stayed at for a week a few years ago.

AMENITIES

This luxury property contains 380 rooms and all of them are oversized.  Basic rooms have 560 square feet of space with a king-sized bed or two twins. Hyatt’s rooms feature a spacious wardrobe, a chaise lounge chair, and a private balcony with a daybed for guests. The décor for the rooms is earth tones and most of the rooms have views of the ocean, the pool, or the interior gardens. Suite rooms range from 860 to 1334 square feet in size and include separate living and dining areas. The hotel also offers one bedroom and three-bedroom villas that are equipped with their own kitchen and a butler. One popular feature is the Regency Club rooms which come with access to a private lounge and private pool, complimentary buffet breakfast and evening cocktails, and all-day refreshments.

The resort complex is huge and fronts on the Non Nuoc beach which extends for miles into downtown Danang. The wide and sandy beach is clean, but the stiff breeze makes it more suitable for water sports, surfing, and wave riding than a quiet swim. However, water is everywhere at the Hyatt Regency which boasts five pools including the main pool with children’s areas, an adult only pool, and the Club pool. Spa treatments by skilled therapists provide a wide range of services and coordinate wellness vacations for guests with the fitness center.

There are five different dining options available on the property. Regency Club Room guests frequent the breakfast buffet and check out the snacks and desserts put out throughout the day. Vive Oceane is located on the beach with pleasant views of the waves and moonlight. It features French, Mediterranean, and Vietnamese dishes, grilled seafood, and western food options. Osteria al Mare is the resort’s all-day restaurant with primarily Italian fare and classic food provided at lunch and dinner. Baguette is a European style eatery which offers breakfast and light lunch food items as well as serving as a convenience store for hotel guests. The pool house is another place to find comfort food and light fare during the day.

AREA ACTIVITIES

While some visitors to Vietnam focus their attention on the large cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Central Vietnam offers many special destinations that present the culture and history of its people without experiencing the hustle and bustle of those urban centers. The Hyatt Resort provides concierge assistance for guests to set up group and private tours of all regional sites including the nearby Hoi An colonial town and the Hue Imperial city. The Danang area has many interesting places to see such as the Marble Mountains or the fascinating villages in the vicinity. Vietnam is also a relaxing destination for beach and swim activities.

LOCATION

Danang is a major center for trade and tourism in Central Vietnam and has long been connected to important locations in Asia and worldwide. Direct air flights to Danang are available from Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, and Hong Kong, and it is easy to arrange a hotel shuttle or find private transportation to the Hyatt and other seaside hotels upon arrival.
