Laguna Bali Hotel Offers Guests A Luxury Experience Of Balinese Culture-Nusa Dua, Indonesia

Bali retains the reputation of being an exotic vacation spot with everything to offer from tranquil beaches, wellness centers and exotic temples to surfing spots and nightclubs. But ten million visitors each year have taxed the natural resources of the island and the patience of its people. Nusa Dua on the eastern shore of Bali was developed as a resort area by the government to expand the number of luxury resorts on the island and reduce the commercialism and overcrowded beaches of Kuta, Denpasar and other popular locations. However, Nusa Dua is close enough to the action to allow visitors to see the island’s major attractions and experience its culture while still providing beautiful beaches, restaurants, and shopping options for guests to relax.

AMENITIES

The Laguna Bali Hotel is one of the Marriott chain’s luxury collection properties. It is an open-air complex with 276 rooms and suites featuring a modern Balinese decorative style with baskets and low rise dulang tables and specially commissioned artwork. The rooms are generously sized. Some look out on the quiet shaded beach while others surround lagoons and tropical gardens. All rooms are equipped with modern convenience such as complimentary Wi-Fi and next-gen Smart TV that sync with guests’ devices.

The grounds of the hotel are extensive and offer a wide variety of activities for guests. Water is an important feature of Balinese culture, and the interior of the hotel consists of seven interconnected swimming lagoons that extend throughout the landscaped property and offer places for lounging, lap swimming, and children’s play. The beachfront of the property has lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas for shaded relaxation or sunbathing. The sandy beach adjoins a protected harbor where guests from the hotel and several other resorts can swim in less crowded and less polluted waters than found at some of the over commercialized sections of the island. The Marriott offers extensive spa services, a full fitness center, and tennis courts for guests along with a comprehensive wellness program that complements its water activities.

The dining options available at the hotel match its five-star reputation. The main hotel restaurant and the oceanside fine dining venue are relaxed spacious facilities with indoor and outdoor seating enveloped by greenery. Their food offerings include local seafoods, authentic pan-Asian specialties, and a generous gourmet breakfast buffet. An evening dinner by the moonlit lagoon provides a memorable experience. Another popular location is the Cornerstone winery and deli which offers just-baked pastries and homemade ice-creams. The Laguna’s bars include lively De Bale Lounge and Bar, where creative cocktails are infused with local spices; and the serene Sapphire Bar is a poolside hideaway for resort guests.

AREA ACTIVITIES

There is plenty to do in Bali and the Laguna has an excellent concierge to assist guests in arranging private tours or transportation to the popular sites around the island. Whether your interests focus on the historic and cultural destinations such as the temples at Tanah Lot and Ulan Danu Beratan or experiencing a yoga session or water temple in Ubud, those activities can readily be incorporated into a stay at Laguna.

LOCATION

Nusa Dua Beach is on the eastern coast of Bali. Since Bali is a popular destination for travelers from all over the world, the area is served by most of the leading air carriers in Asia and the world. There are no direct flights from the United States to Bali, but west coast-based travelers can connect to Bali on United Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Singapore Airlines, while east coast-based travelers can connect through Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways. Flights arrive at Denpasar Airport from which there are hotel shuttles and transit buses to Nusa Dusa, located half an hour away.
